7.2008 – Zacatecas to Guanajuato
July 2008 – Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, Guanajuato
Central Mexico Trip Report
July 8 – 15, 2008
I am taking just a moment to briefly share with you some high points of this most recent trip. Pastor Tony Garcia, Project Director OCC- Mexico, along with 3 other Mexican pastors who have been regularly traveling with me met up with the ” Norteamericano ” contingency, a group of 4 from Victory Christian Center, New Wilmington Campus. When we disembarked at the Zacatecas airport, there was a large welcoming group of pastors there to greet us , including not only local pastors, but also pastors from the state of Hidalgo, and the state of Cuahuila!
Early in the morning, we had a breakfast mtg. with the Pastors’ alliance members, where the President, Pastor Vidal introduced Pastor Tony who spoke concerning OCC. Pastor Tony then introduced me, and I shared my heart and my vision for prayer in Mexico. The pastors there were very receptive, and immediately responded with a promise of their help and involvement. While in this city, we prayed for the 5 pressure points, and also went to the highest spot overlooking the city to pray. This is always a strategic place. I also had the opportunity in Zacatecas to do both a live radio interview and a taped teaching program to be aired at a later time, possibly next week.
The second city we visited was Aguascalientes, which means “hot waters.” What an awesome experience this was! This is one beautiful city, and much warmer than Zacatecas where we a bit taken by surprise by the cold temps. During our time of intercession in the Palace of the Presidente Municipal, the Liaison of Religious Affairs invited us inside to pray. He then took us to many other areas of the Palace offices, and the adjoining cultural center where we continued our intercession. This very influencial man also attended the Pastor’s Alliance breakfast the next morning, where once again Pastor Tony and I shared. There was such a beautiful and emotionally charged response to the OCC vision as we shared, as I concluded with “estado a estado, paso a paso”—
“-state by state, step by step” we are marching across this land praying and declaring “Mexico por Cristo!”
Guanajuato, the capital city of the state of Guanajuato was our final destination. This is truly a beautiful and most interesting city smaller than most capital cities, and surrounded by steep montanas. Interestingly, there is a complete system of underground tunnels where most of the city traffic is. The people who live on the tops of the mountains are unable to drive up to their homes, they have ,instead steps or ramps that go up from the main streets of the city. This Pastor’s Alliance is much smaller, but MIGHTY! The response was the same———”we’re in, we want to help and be a part. We will continue to pray at the 5 pressure points, and share with all other pastors and intercessors here.”
Finally——-our plan for the culmination of the assignment: I know that God gave us a time frame of 3 years for this work. Bu the end of Aug. we will have covered 17 cities. My goal (and I think it is realistic) is to finish at the end of 2009. At that time I believe we will have a Prayer Summit—- a great service of prayer and worship in Aguascalientes, because this is the geographic center of the nation. We will invite all of the pastors in all of the Alliances from every state to bring their leaders, their intercessors and their people to gather for a time of national prayer and worship. We would like to have a national known worship leader lead the group in extravagant worship, as we pray together for the nation. The plan is to send a prayer team to “Aguas” in Jan. of 2010, again in Feb. of 2010, and then perhaps a 2 or 3 day Conference the third week of Mar.(We are really hoping that Harvest Preparation International Ministries will be able to do this!) At the conclusion of the conferencia, we will have the Prayer Summit!!!!
As you can see, our work here at OCC is cut out for us. There is so much to do and really not a lot of time. Please continue to pray for this mission.
I want to again thank you for your financial help. It is so necessary and of course, so appreciated. All who sow into this ministry will surely reap!
I am leaving again with another team on the 11th of Aug. for 2 more cities, Guadalajara and Colima, and once again desperately need your prayers. This work is not easy. Every day is a battle. PLEASE PRAY!!!!!!!!!!!
Love in Christ,
Pastor Carol
